Bandipora, October 13:

A devastating fire erupted in the Dawar Tulail market of Gurez, Bandipora district, on Sunday evening, causing substantial damage to property. Atleast eight to ten shops and two residential houses were affected by the blaze, which continues to rage.

According to local authorities, the fire was first reported at 8:34 PM. Firefighting teams were swiftly deployed from the Dawar Gurez command and neighboring stations to combat the flames. Upon arrival, it was discovered that a significant number of shops, estimated to be between 8 and 10, along with two residential houses, were engulfed in fire.

Despite the firefighters’ best efforts, the blaze remained uncontrolled at the time of reporting. The exact cause of the fire and the full extent of the damage are still under investigation.
