459 candidates engaged under ReJ scheme, 328 still on rolls

Srinagar, Oct 29 :

The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Wednesday said that 1381 vacancies are available in the Forest, Ecology and Environment Department, of which 711 stand referred to recruiting agencies.

Minister Incharge, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) informed the Legislative Assembly that a proposal for the referral of another 282 vacancies, including 130 non-gazetted and 152 Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) posts, is currently under examination in the department.

In a written reply to a question by legislator Shakti Raj Parihar, the government said a total of 459 candidates were initially engaged under the Rehbar-e-Janglat (ReJ) Scheme, introduced through Government Order No. 155-FST of 2017 dated June 20, 2017.

Of them, 328 are presently working in the department, including 217 in the PCCF wing, 80 in the Forest Protection Force and 31 in the Wildlife division.

The Rehbar-e-Janglat Scheme was launched following Cabinet Decision No. 96/6/2017 to strengthen forest management and expand employment opportunities in the sector—(KNO)
