Warns of legal action against unauthorised media outlets

KUPWARA, SEPTEMBER 06 :

The deputy commissioner Kupwara, Imam Din on Monday warned of legal action against the “self-styled journalists” for misusing social media and other tools to misguide the general public.

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), DC Kupwara said that few self-styled journalists are coming out with their own media outlets without any registration, while few are misusing social media and other tools of information to misguide the people.

“In this connection I have written to Handwara and Kupwara police, information department for legal action. We have authorized media outlets here, they are free to work,” he said.

He said that the information department is preparing a complete list of authorized media persons, and this list will be shared with all the district officers to adhere and for official quotes. (KNS)
