Acting tough against non- performers Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan has suspended 58 Government employees from RDD and Education department in the district.

These employees had been deputed by the District Administration as Lok Mitras’ for implementation of some Government Schemes in the district.

Giving details official sources said that DC Rajouri Rajesh Kumar Shavan, while taking serious note of their very poor performance and habitual absenteeism, panelised them today.

They had been appointed to mobilize the public for the registration of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) Social Endevour for Health & Telemedicine (SEHAT) scheme.

District Administration had nominated Lok Mitras in all the 386 villages of Rajouri district for linkage between the District Administration and the public for delivery of public services.

Deputy Commissioner’s order reads: “It has been observed and feedback from public/officers concerned (including BDOs, Tehsildars, ZEOs, BMOs, Panchayat Officers) that the performance of some Lok Mitras is very poor and are not seen on the ground in their respective areas assigned to them and remain unauthorized absent from their duty”.

“In view of the above, pending inquiry, some officials nominated as Lok Mitras- I & II, who are working on substantive capacity in their respective departments are hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect & salary of those employees (who are working on a contract basis) shall remain withheld” order further reads.

Deputy Commissioner in the order also directed the concerned Drawing & Disbursing Officers (DDOs) not to release the salary of suspended employees and also of contractual employees, until & unless their performance shall improve and till further orders from his office.

58 Lok Mitras suspended belongs to 29 villages and include teachers, VLWs, GRSs, BLOs, & Masters.“`
