GUREZ BANDIPORA, 08 SEPTEMBER:

Atleast Seven passengers including a driver were injured in a road accident in Tulail area of Gurez Valley on Wednesday evening.

An official said a Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK07 -1896 driven by one Liyakat Ahmad Son of Mohammad Shakoor R/o Kangan Ganderbal met with an accident near Baduaab Tulail resulting injuries to all seven passengers including driver.

The vehicle was on way to Tulail carrying seven passengers. “All injured have been shifted to PHC Badugam Tulail for treatment where from two critically injured refered to SDH Dawar Gurez, ” Officials said

He said the all injured passengers were shifted to nearby hospital by the rescue team.

Block Medical Officer Gurez Dr. Tahira said that two critically injured were brought to the sub district hospital Gurez. She said they were referred both to Srinagar for specialized treatment.

Sources said the sumo narrowly escaped from falling into a deep gorge. “Had it fallen in the gorge, many passengers could have died,” they said.

Police have registered a case in this regard.
