CHANDIGARH ,FEBRUARY 15:
Famous Punjabi film actor and social activist Deep Sidhu today died in a road accident on KMP highway (Kundli-Manesar highway) near Delhi.
He was travelling in scorpio jeep on Kundli highway close to site of farmer agitration on Sidhu border, when his vehicle rammed into a stationary container parked on road side.
His girl friend Reena Roy from USA who was travelling with him however escaped unhurt.
He was rushed to hospital where he was declared brough dead.
Deep Sidhu is an accused in the Red Fort violence incident and facing trial in a Delhi court. He was on bail from court. He always defended his action on Red Fort.
He particiapted in the farmers agitation and led a seprate group of his followers.
The farmer organisations maintained a distance from him after red fort incident. It was alleged Depp Sidhu played in the hands of BJP to sabotage farmer agitation.
It is coincident that he died near the place on KMP from where he led the young farmers to Red Fort.
Deep Sidhu belonged to Udaikaram village in Mukatsar district of Punjab. He came to highlight in political circles when Sunny Deol congtested the Parliament election from Gurdaspur. He worked as political secretary of Sunny Deol.
However of late he was not in good relations with Deol family.
