In a significant move, the Jammu & Kashmir government has directed its Administrative Reforms, Inspections and Trainings department to ensure that all offices are administratively inspected at least once in a year.
A record note of a meeting held on January 3, 2022 reveals that these directions were passed by chief secretary Arun Kumar Mehta while reviewing the functioning of Administrative Reforms, Inspections and Trainings department.
“The chief secretary directed the department that the calendar of administrative inspections be so formulated as to ensure all offices, both in secretariat and in the field, are administratively inspected at least once in a year by their controlling offices,” reads minutes of the meeting, a copy of which is in possession of news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
In the meeting, the CS also directed the department to prepare a calendar of administrative inspections in consultation with the General Administration Department from 2022-23 and circulate the same to all department.
“The chair directed the department to integrate the feedback mechanism with the system of administrative inspections for making the processes of inspections result-oriented,” reads the record note.
The department was further directed that the formats of administrative inspection may be circulated amongst all the departments well in advance of the scheduled inspections.
The ARI & Trainings department is entrusted with the mandate of inspecting various government offices/departments for ensuring proper maintenance of records and implementation of rules and regulations—(KNO)
