REK, NYC employees stage candlelight protest outside DC office Baramulla

Demand regularization of their services, hike in salary and revocation of order

Baramulla: Scores of employees appointed under schemes of under Rehbar-e-Khel, Rehbar-e-Janglat and National Youth Corps scheme staged candlelight protest outside Deputy Commissioners (DC) office Baramulla demanding their regularization and revocation of demanding revocation of Jammu and Kashmir government’s decision to re-advertise the posts they were engaged in.

Despite the clarification by government through Directorate of Information Department which refuted the reports and clarified that it have no plans to disengage the employees working under Rehber-e-Khel, Rehbar-e-Janglat and NYC scheme.

Carrying candles in their hands, protesting students raised slogans demanding that their jobs must be made permanent as they have sacrificed their valuable time and energy for the departments.

More than hundreds of teachers assembled outside DC office Baramullaand chanted slogans in favour of their demands including ‘Equal work, Equal Pay, Mehnat Humari Loot Tumhari Nahi Chalegi, Justice for Rehbar-e-Khail, Save Youth Save Future’.


While talking with media said that we have knocked doors of every administrator for their genuine demands but nobody seems bothered about regularization of our services, now this order has made us anxious.

“We are highly meritorious youth. We are already serving the departments and being paid just Rs 2500 per month which is injustice. Our families are suffering we demand hike in salary and regularization of our jobs,” said another protesting employee.

“ NYC are serving people in 25 departments we performed services as frontline workers. Besides Rehbar-e-Khail teachers were promised to regularize after five years but now committee has came up with draconian order which sheer injustice with highly qualified youth,” said Syed Ajaz-ul-HaqPresident REK.
