Committee to be headed by Administrative Secretary Home department, DGP appointed as Vice Chairman

The Jammu and Kashmir government on Friday constituted a Union Territory level monitoring committee for implementation of the Student Police Cadet (SPC) programme.

Principal Secretary to the Government, Manoj Kumar Dwivedi in a fresh directive issued today has announced the formation of the UT level monitoring committee headed by Administrative Secretary of Home department, who has been appointed as chairman of the panel for implementation of the Student Police Cadet (SPC) programme in Jammu and Kashmir.

Director General of Police (DGP), J&K has been appointed as Vice chairman of the panel while Administrative Secretary of School Education Department will work as Member Secretary.

The Administrative Secretaries of Youth Services and Sports Department, Transport department and Forest Ecology and Environment department have been appointed members of the panel.

The committee has been asked to lay out braid policy objectives and operational guidelines and also monitor the progress of the programme.

The panel has been directed to initiate implementation of the programme in the government schools either in urban or rural panchayats. “The committee may take a decision with regard to number for Schools to be covered in each such area, subject to the allocation of funds being made for the purpose,” the order reads—(KNO)
