Scores of residents from Old Town of district Baramulla on Wednesday expressed resentment against the PMGSY department for failing to macadamize 08-kilometer Azadgunj to Khadiniyar road.
Despite being a vital road, the inhabitants said the road is in dilapidated condition and is craving for attention over last two years.
Gagender Singh, a resident of Baramulla said that the road is dotted with potholes and has become a death trap for commuters. We have a Gurdwara Chattipadshahi here in oldtown but the condition of the road is very bad due to which we have to face a lot of problems while visiting the Gurdwara.

“The road passes through dozens of Mohalla’s and villages but its condition is dilapidated for the last two years as the PMGSY has neglected the vital road,” he said.
The residents complained several times to the administration to macadamize the road, but nothing has been done so far.
“The traffic load on the road is very heavy and acts as a bridge to the highway,” he added
Another resident, Nisar Ahmad said the administration has neglected the worst-hit especially 03 Kilometer road from Azad Gunj To Drangbal.
ANN News Reporter Umar Rashid Contacted PMGSY officials regarding the said issue they said that “the road is in maintenance, Contractor assured PMGSY that he will macadamize this road within this month.
Meanwhile, the residents further appealed to DC Baramulla and Chief Engineer PMGSY to look into the issue, so that problem will be resolved as soon as possible.
