Says around 10-20 per cent people in Valley affected by Hypertension

Hypertension is increasing at an alarming rate in the Kashmir Valley as around 10-20 percent people in the valley are suffering from this diseases, revealed an official on Thursday here.
Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS) nodal officer for Hypertension, Dr Junaid said that Hypertension is rising at an alarming rate in Kashmir, as around 10-20 percent are suffering from this disease, however the percentage varies from place to place.
He said that there are several reasons for Hypertension, but stress, excessive intake of salt and smoking are the few main reasons.
He added that hypertension is not same in everywhere but it varies from place to place and it has many causes, which includes smoking, unhealthy lifestyle, personal issues, excessive intake of salt.
Junaid said that if hypertension is left untreated it may causes organ failure slowly or can even cause death and stated that lot of stress can lead to mental illness as well.
He also advised people to eat healthy, exercising regularly and quit smoking in order to save themselves from this diseases. (KNS)
