Baltal, Jul 12 :

After remaining suspended for 4 days due to a cloudburst, in which at least 16 people died and dozens were injured, Amarnath Yatra resumed on Tuesday from Baltal side in Ganderbal district as well, officials said here.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that Amarnath Yatra resumed as fresh batch of yatris was allowed to proceed towards the holy cave from Baltal Base Camp today morning.

He said that more than 7000 yatris left Dumail towards the holy cave early morning.

Notably, Yatra was suspended after a cloudburst hit at lower Amarnath cave shrine on Friday, in which at least 16 people died, while dozens were injured.

On Monday, Yatra resumed after three days from Nunwan base camp in Pahalgam after fresh batch of yatris was allowed to proceed toward the holy cave—(KNO)
