Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum Chairman Abdul Qayoom Wani expressed upsetment on the recent unwanted occurance in a masjid in Kashmir where a religious preacher slapped a person of other sect. The Chairman said that barring the debate who was wrong and who was right but how all was carried out and concluded is totally unacceptable religiously as well as our social, cultural and the history and scope of tolerance is concerned.
Forum in its statement has strongly condemned the act and has asked the grand religious scholars and representatives of religious organizations to conduct a probe in the said matter in the context of why and how sectal matters emerge on social media and bring bad taste to the minds of the followers of all sects.
” Jammu and Kashmir has been an exemplary place for the brotherhood, religious and intra- religious tolerance for any kind of differences and every sect has respect for the other sect in common domain and there has been least scope for sectal hatred” Wani said
Society has urged upon the grand religious scholars to conduct special orientation courses of religious preachers of contemporary times as to train them how to make sermons and respond to queries as per tje shariah so that the modern challenges can be tackled and no room left for any kind of religious and sectal hatred.
Society has asked the religious scholars also to resolve the issue amicably and not to upload everything on social media.
