Acting swiftly upon a specific information regarding gambling in the jurisdiction of Police Station Baramulla. Police team led by Inspr. Showkat Ahmad Shah, SHO PS Baramulla under the supervision of Syed Sajad Hussain-JKPS, DySP Hqrs Baramulla raided the place of gambling at Chakloo, Baramulla and arrested seven gamblers and persons were identified as 1. Mohd Ramzan Dar S/O Ab Gani Dar R/O Sangri Colony Baramulla 2. Ayaan Ayoub Malla S/O Mohd Ayoub Malla R/O Hanfia Colony Arampora Sopore 3. Dilshad Ahmad Sheikh S/O Wali Mohammad Sheikh R/O Sheikh Colony Noorbagh Baramulla 4. Javid Ahmad Gojri S/O Ab Raheem Gojri R/O Drangbal Baramulla 5. Rafeeq Ahmad Bhat S/O Gh Mohammad Bhat R/O Fatehgarh Sheeri 6. Mubashir Mushtaq S/O Mushtaq Ahmad Kuboo R/O Arampora Sopore and 7. Ishfaq Ahmad Dar S/O Bashir Ahmad Dar R/O Arampora Sopore. Stake money of Rs. 29030/- and a deck of playing cards were also recovered from them.

In this connection, Case FIR No. 148/2021, U/S 13 Gambling Act registered at Police Station Baramulla and investigation taken up.

Similarly, acting swiftly upon a specific information regarding gambling in the jurisdiction of Police Station Pattan. Police team led by Inspr. Nisar Ahmad, SHO PS Pattan and Inspr. Sarjan Ahmad, IC PP Mirgund under the supervision of Sh. Zaffar Mehdi-JKPS, DySP (SDPO Pattan) raided the place of gambling at Baliharan Mirgund, Baramulla and arrested seven gamblers and persons were identified as 1. Hanief Ahmad Bhat S/O Mohd Maqbool 2. Mohd Younus Bhat S/O Gh Mohd 3. Farooq Ahmad Lone S/O Gh Qadir 4. Mayoom Ahmad Malik S/O Irshad Ahmad 5. Mohd Shafi Malik S/O Gh Nabi 6. Tariq Ahmad Lone S/O Gh Qadir Lone all residents of Singhpora Pattan and 7. Tawseef Ahmad Sheikh S/O Late Gh Ahmad R/O KP Seri Singhpora Pattan. Stake money of Rs. 18090/- and a deck of playing cards were also recovered from them.

In this connection, Case FIR No. 178/2021, U/S 13 Gambling Act registered at Police Station Pattan and investigation taken up.

Community members are requested to extend cooperation to the Police and come forward with such information so that such social crimes are effectively curbed.
