‘Srinagar registers 60 cases’

Srinagar, Aug 15 :
Jammu and Kashmir Monday reported 273 fresh cases of Covid-19, pushing the number of active cases to 4,154 while two more deaths were reported in the UT in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 4,779.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 273 new cases, 239 belong to Kashmir division while 34 belong to Jammu division.
He said that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir have reached to 300,965 including 295,072 recoveries and 2,432 deaths, while total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 173,090 including 170,050 recoveries and 2,347 deaths.
He further said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 4,154 including 3,461 from Kashmir division and 518 from Jammu division.
With 580 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in J&K has reached to 465,122 which is 98.12 percent of the total cases.
“Among the fresh 273 cases today, 60 are from Srinagar, 96 from Baramulla, 29 from Budgam, 09 from Pulwama 16 from Kupwara, 23 from Anantnag, 05 from Bandipora, 00 from Ganderbal, 01 from Kulgam and 00 from Shopian in Kashmir division while 34 are from Jammu division that include 11 from Jammu district, 03 from Udhampur, 03 from Rajouri, 00 from Doda, 02 from Kuthua , 01 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 00 from Poonch, 14 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” said the official.
As per the daily information bulletin 6,699,829 persons in J&K are under observation while 138 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides 4,154 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 6,690,421 persons have completed the surveillance period and 337 persons are under home surveillance besides so far results of 26,310,672 samples are available.
“Out of 26,310,672 the number of samples tested negative stands at 25,836,617 while 474,055 have tested positive, among them 4,154 cases are active, 465,122 have recovered and 4,779 persons have died,” it added—(KNO)
