Terms an Initiative a Historical, a Transparent in Revenue System
Also Calls for Early Completion of Land Digitization Process

As a reform to give fillip to transparency in the public service delivery in the Revenue Department, the District Administration Baramulla today rolled out the process to issue Land Passbooks to the legal owners of land in Baramulla district under Aapki Zameen Aapki Nigrani initiative.
In this connection, a function was organized in Dak Bungalow here, wherein, the Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar in presence of various senior officers handed over Land Passbooks to land owners of Baramulla district.
It is worth here to mention Aapki Zameen Aapki Nigrani initiative is one of the flagship programme launched by the Government of J&K to bring ease, transparency and convenience for citizens about land records. Under this initiative, public users can search and view copies of scanned data online on CIS portal.
While speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner termed the initiative a historical step towards transparency and good governance. She also complimented the concerned agencies and departments for making this facility a possibility in a short time.
Highlighting the benefits of the Land Pass Book, the DC said the Land Pass Book prescribed by the Revenue Department is true to the Revenue record and can be generated online without any hassle.
Elaborating further, the DC said that Land Passbooks issued to every landholder contains entry from the Jamabandi in Revenue Estate, so as to enable the landholder to make its use for Credit facilities and for other matters connected therewith.
The Deputy Commissioner further stressed the concerned to extend the facility to all the landowners of District Baramulla.
Meanwhile, the DC also called for early completion of the Digitization land records and stressed upon the functionary involved to speedup their efforts to ensure completion of the process within stipulated time frame with zero errors so as to facilitate people in accessing to their land records easily.
Among others Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Zahoor Ahmad Raina, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Peerzada Mumtaz Ahmad and all Tehsildars of the District were present on the occasion.
