SRINAGAR, JUNE 26 :

The Conference/ meeting of Kashmir based Armed/ IR Commandants was held today at Armed Police Complex, Parihaspora, Pattan, Baramulla. The conference/ meeting presided over by ADGP Armed J&K, S.J.M Gillani – IPS was organized with the aim to deliberate and discuss various issues related to functioning of J&K Armed Police and to prepare a roadmap for future policing to address emerging challenges and formulate a policy to enhance the performance of Armed/ IR Police Battalions.
The conference was attended by IGP Armed/ IR Kashmir, Shri Vijay Kumar – IPS, DIG NKR Baramulla, Shri Sujit Kumat – IPS, SSP Baramulla besides all Commandants of Kashmir based AP/IR Battalions.
S.J.M. Gillani – IPS ADGP Armed J&K at the inaugural of the conference said, the aim of this conference/ meeting is to improve the professional standards of Armed Police.” Among other important issues, he urged the participants to pay attention to the welfare of personnel functioning under their supervision. He stressed upon the participating officers to ensure that their men deployed for Law & Order and other duties shall be fully equipped with body protective gears. The Commandants should ensure that the nafri is properly fed, housed and provided all the basic amenities required for better survival,” the ADGP added.
The ADGP stressed on making Police Public relations better and urged the participants of the conference to get personally involved in such activities.
A newly constructed Mess-cum-Dining Hall of IRP-3rd Bn. in the Armed Police Complex Parihaspora, Pattan, Baramulla was also inaugurated by the ADGP on the occasion.
