Contractors, employees suffer.

Department of Flood Control and Irrigation Division Baramulla has been headless from last one month after the Executive Engineer of the division got transferred and no executive engineer has been posted here due to which contractors and employees of the division are suffering badly.
A delegation of contractors led by president Flood Control and Irrigation Contractors Association Baramulla (FCCAB) Abdul Rahim Bhat said that Executive Engineer Flood and Irrigation Division Baramulla was transferred for unknown reasons last month but the division has been left headless as no Executive Engineer has been posted in the division due to contractors and employees are suffering badly.
“We are facing lot of problems in the division as there is no one to clear pending bills besides tender and payments process got hampered. We are suffering badly as it has been a month now no one has been posted in the division,” said Abdul Rahim Bhat.
“We are running from pillar to post for payment of bills of the works done by us. We have taken loans from banks and owe money to labourers, masons and stone quarries now we appeal Honorable Lt. Governor to look into matter and immediately post an Executive Engineer to Baramulla so that employees and contractors won’t face more hardships,” added Bhat.
Besides, contractors’ employees of the department told that they have been facing face lot of issues and problems after executive engineer was transferred.
“Department works also suffer when there is no head to sign the documents and communications. We are helpless. We also demand that an executive engineer must be posted in the division,” said an employee on conditions of anonymity.
