Handwara, July 25 :

Three people were injured in a black bear attack in Yahama village of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday afternoon.

Locals said that three people were working in their field in Yahama village when a black bear appeared and attacked them.

They said that the bear was later chased away and three people were rescued and were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

They have been identified as Bashir Ahmad, Mohammad Yousuf–both residents of Yahama and Javid resident of Sanzipora.

Meanwhile, an official of the Wildlife department said that they will tranquilize the animal.

He also urged the locals to cooperate and not to venture outside in the morning and evening hours. (KNS)
