Farmers jubilant over the good gestures

Baramulla, Aug 7: Animals are without borders and know nothing the about line of controls created by humans, an equine, a cow and an ox which crossed over Line of Controls(LoC) via Jabdi Karhna were repatriated by Indian and Pakistan Army via Kaman post Uri on Saturday.
A top Army official said that as a goodwill gesture, the Indian and Pakistan Army facilitated the return of cattle after they had strayed across LoC to the rightful owner residing on the other side of the Line of Control.
He said that two cattle a cow and an ox belonging to a person residing across Line of Control had strayed into Indian side and an ass from this side crossed over via Jabdi Karnah area few days ago. “The Pakistan Army was informed about the presence of cattle in this side and following the adherence to necessary procedures in the matter, the two cattle – an ox and a cow – were accordingly returned to the rightful owner.”
The repatriation was done at Kaman Post Uri, adding he said an ass , which had crossed over to other side few days ago, was received by the authorities on this side.
The repatriation function, they said, was attended by BVO Karnah Dr Intisar Amin, VAS Uri Dr Tahir Gani Banday, VAS Karnah Dr Haris Beigh, Executive Magistrate, SHO Karnah, Uri police, Army officers and officials from other side.
