Sheeri: Sheeri Shopkeepers Welfare Union ( Beopar Mandal Sheeri) Baramulla held its presidential and secretary elections on Saturday in which Sajad Bashir Lone (Lone Medicate) was elected as President while as Imtiyaz Ahmad lone was elected as General Secretary.

Two candidates Sajad Ahmed Lone (Lone Medicate)and Mushtaq Ahmad Lone (Mushtaq Studio) were in the fray as presidential candidate while as three candidates Mohamad Asif Zogoyar, Musaib Ahmad Lone and Imtiyaz Lone were contesting for General Secretary post.

Out of 324 votes, 304 were polled in which sajad Ahmed Lone got 154 votes while as Mushtaq Ahmad lone got 150 votes, Sajad Ahmad Lone got elected as president Beopar Mandal Sheeri first time for the period of three years.

For General Secretary post, Imtiyaz Ahmad Lone topping the contest with 112 votes while as Musaib Ahmad Lone got 107 votes and Mohammad Asif bagged 82 votes respectively besides three votes were rejected.

The elections were held under free and fair manner under the supervision of Election Commissioner Ghulam Hassan Lone, Syed Fayaz Bukhari ( Fashion Square) Imtiyaz Bhat (New Bhat Medicate) Aijaz Ahmad Lone (Ajaz General Store)and his team while as Chief Election Observer Basit Bhat(Bhat Hardware)Mushtaq Ahamd (Bhat Footware)Showkat Ahmad Sheikh(Sheikh Hardware) along with representatives of Beopar Mandal Sheeri.

Meanwhile a delegation of trader’s federation Baramulla under the chairmanship of president Mohammad Ashraf Ganai took part in counting and declaration of election results besides in an oath ceremony. The winning candidates were administered oathby noted writer and social activist Reyaz Ahmad Ganai and provided certificates on this occasion.

Speaking on this occasion, elected candidates assured the voters that they would work for the welfare of shopkeepers and development of the market.
