Budgam Police has apprehended a woman, for posing as an IAS officer and attempting to extort money from a family during a supposed spiritual treatment.

A police spokesperson said that the womab identified as
Ayush Ganjo wife of Monmohan Ganjoo visited the residence of Gh Hassan Malik in Alipora, Budgam, where she falsely claimed to be an IAS officer and promised to secure government jobs for their children in exchange for a sum of money.

“Following this incident, the Budgam Police Station registered a case under FIR No. 302/23, charging the accused with offenses under Sections 419 and 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC),” he said.(KNS)
