A court has extended five days remand of Imran Ahmad Ganai, aka Shahid Imran) who is running social media page –Kashmir Crown—in connection with an exhortation, officials said.
Imran was arrest on Friday, a day after his associate Ashiq Mir was arrested in connection with the case—(FIR no.145) under IPC sections of 384 (extortion) and 506 (criminal intimidation) which was registered in police station Dangiwachi against the duo.
Confirming the extending of the remand, a police official said that Shahid was produced before the court of jurisdiction for seeking his more remand. The court extended his remand by five days, the official said.
Soon after the arrests, SSP Sopore Sudhanshu Verma (IPS) had assured that “law will take own course. People shall need not to worry and the case will be concluded on merits.”
