Baramulla: A high level delegation of Traders Federation Baramulla on Thursday held a meeting with Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) north Kashmir range Baramulla, Surjit Kumar IPS under the leadership of Secretary Federation Engineer, Tariq Ahmed Mughloo at his office.

In a statement issued here , the federation said that traders federation welcomed the new DIG for assuming the office and termed his posting as the homecoming as the officer had his probation done from Baramulla.

The delegation apprised the officer about the issue of federation in the backdrop of Covid19 and hardships faced by the street vendors and day labourers due to the lockdown which has now entered into third week. The federation also apprised the police officer about the meance of drug addiction in the north Kashmir where recently two young men became victim of drugs at Sopore and Baramulla township and demanded the fight against drug peddlers should be enhanced as its ruining the future of our young generation, informed the statement.

Other issues related to town were also discussed with the officer who assured prompt action on all the issues highlighted during the meeting. The delegation assured the officer full cooperation in resolving issues of the town, the statement issued here said.
