SRINAGAR, MAY 20:

Police on thrusdays claimed to have recovered an abducted girl within twelve hours in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

In a statement issued to GNS, the police said that On 19th May, one Habibullah Sofi son of Qadir Sofi resident of Nambla Uri lodged a written Complaint with Police Station Uri stating therein that his daughter (name withheld) aged about 15 years has been kidnapped by one Muneer Ahmad son of Nazeer Ahmad resident of Khamoh Rafiabad, District Baramulla.

The Police spokesman further stated that un this regard, case FIR NO. 50/2021 u/s 363 IPC was registered at Police Station Uri.

On this information, Police Station Uri swung into action and recovered the abductee within twelve hours from Khamoh Rafiabad area of District Baramulla and the accused fled away from the spot and entered into dense forest of Panzalla area, he said.

After completing the legal formalities, the abductee was handed over to her legal heirs. Investigation of the case is going on, reads the statement.(GNS)
