Baramulla May 8:
In view of the Lok Sabha Election in 1-Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency on 20th of May, District Election Officer Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, today conducted a comprehensive inspection of various polling stations in the district.
The purpose of the visit was to ensure Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) at polling stations in line with the guidelines of the Election Commission of India. The DEO meticulously assessed the infrastructure and amenities at various polling stations including Dangerpora, Azad Gunj, Khanpora to ensure seamless and efficient voting experience for everyone.
The comprehensive inspection encompassed vital aspects such as accessibility, ramps for voters with disabilities, proper sanitation facilities, availability of drinking water, electricity supply and other facilities for polling staff and the voters.
The DEO also visited and inspected Pink Polling Station with all-female staff and green polling station in 10-Baramulla, highlighting a commitment to gender inclusivity and environmental sustainability during Lok Sabha Elections.
During the visit, Minga Sherpa expressesed his satisfaction regarding the arrangements put in place by the district administration and commended the efforts of all stakeholders involved in the preparations and urged continued cooperation to ensure the success of the electoral exercise.
Meanwhile, Minga Sherpa also reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to upholding the principles of democracy and to ensure a conducive environment for conducting free, fair, and transparent elections.
