Agriculture Minister Javed Ahmad Dar unfurls the national flag, Highlights District’s Achievements

The Republic Day 2025 celebrations were marked by patriotic zeal and enthusiasm at the District Police Lines, Baramulla where Javed Ahmad Dar, Minister for Agricultural Production, Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Cooperatives, and Elections, unfurled the National Flag, inspected the parade, and received the salute on March Past.
The Parade comprised of contingents from BSF, CRPF, J&K police, Shastra Seema Bal, Home Guards, J&K Police Band, NCC cadets from Govt. Degree College Baramulla, Boys’ Higher Secondary Baramulla and various schools and colleges.
In his address to the gathering, the minister extended his Republic Day greetings to the people and paid tribute to the visionary leaders instrumental in shaping our constitution and the brave freedom fighters and martyrs who sacrificed everything to uphold nation’s freedom and democracy.
Javed Ahmad Dar highlighted the district’s significant achievements across various key sectors, including agriculture, healthcare, education, women and youth empowerment, the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), rural development, road connectivity, social welfare, and self-employment initiatives.
During the event, students from different schools showcased a range of cultural programs highlighting the region’s rich cultural diversity and heritage.
Meanwhile, beautifully crafted tableau showcasing the achievements under the Holistic Agricultural Development Program (HADP) was put on display highlighted the transformative impact of the program on the agricultural sector in the district.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of prizes for the march past and cultural performances. Additionally, employees from various departments were honored for their outstanding contributions in public service.
Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Baramulla, Javaid Beigh, MLA Sopore, Irshad Ahmad Kar, MLA Wagoora-Kreeri, Irfan Hafiz Lone, MLA Uri, Sajad Ahmad, Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Zahoor Ahmad Raina, officers of Army and Police, District and sectoral officers, heads of different departments besides a huge gathering of people participated in Republic Day celebrations.
Similar Republic Day functions were also organized with enthusiasm and fervor at Sub-divisions Sopore, Pattan, Uri, Tangmarg and tehsil levels where the concerned ADCs and SDMs unfurled the tri-color.
Additionally, the District Judiciary Baramulla celebrated Republic Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor at District Court Complex Baramulla where Jawad Ahmad, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Baramulla unfurled the National Flag.
A contingent of Police and BSF presented a ceremonial Guard of Honour on the occasion. The celebration was attended by Mr. Amarjeet Singh Lengay (1st Additional District and Sessions Judge, Baramulla), Mr. Mir Qayoom (Special Judge NDPS Cases), Mr. Majid Farooq (Sub-Judge Baramulla), Mr. Javid Ahmad Pary (Secretary, District Legal Services Authority Baramulla), Mr. Imran Hanief (Special Mobile Magistrate Baramulla), Mr. Altaf Ahmad (Principal Magistrate, JJB Baramulla) and Ms Neelofer (President Bar Association Baramulla).
