The army in the twin districts of Ramban and Rajouri have averted major fire tragedies, officials said here on Sunday.

Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that fire erupted in the forest area near Lam area of Nowshera in Rajouri district during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday.

“Troops of Rashtriya Rifles battalion of Lam swung into action and two QRTs were pressed into service to douse the flames. After three hours they were able to control the flames,” they said.
