Uri: In a significant move to promote inclusive and equitable education, Chief Education Officer (CEO) Baramulla, Altaf Hussain Tara, inaugurated the Mega Enrollment Drive 2025 at Zone Uri.

The event, held at Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS) Uri, was organized under the aegis of Cluster GHSS Uri and Zonal Education Office Uri. The drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from various stakeholders in the education sector, marking a promising start to the campaign.

The Mega Enrollment Drive 2025 is a flagship initiative of the School Education Department aimed at maximizing enrollment, reducing dropout rates, and ensuring access to quality education for every child. During the event, 50 new students were admitted on the spot, with special emphasis on enrolling out-of-school children.

The drive also focused on raising awareness among parents about government schemes and incentives, such as free textbooks, uniforms, scholarships, and mid-day meals, designed to promote education. The event was graced by CEO Baramulla as the chief guest, alongside dignitaries including Principal GHSS Uri, Takeed Ali Khan; Principal BHSS Salamabad, Abdul Hamid; Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Uri, Abdul Karim; Heads of Institutions (HOIs) from Cluster GHSS Uri; teaching faculty, parents, and students.

In his keynote address, CEO Baramulla Altaf Hussain Tara underscored the importance of community involvement in strengthening the education system. He reiterated the government’s commitment to providing quality infrastructure, trained teachers, and innovative teaching methodologies to improve learning outcomes.

“Education is the most powerful tool for social and economic transformation. Through the Mega Enrollment Drive, we aim to reach every child, especially those from marginalized and underprivileged backgrounds, and ensure they are enrolled and retained in schools,” said CEO Baramulla.

He commended the efforts of Cluster Head GHSS Uri, ZEO Uri, school heads, and the teaching fraternity for their dedication to the initiative. He also urged parents and the local community to collaborate with schools to create a nurturing learning environment for children.

The event featured motivational and informative speeches from various speakers, who highlighted the importance of education and community development. Parents in attendance expressed their appreciation for the School Education Department’s initiatives and the efforts to enhance the quality of education in government schools.

ZEO Uri, Abdul Karim, appealed to parents to enroll all out-of-school children, emphasizing the benefits of free education provided by government-run schools. As part of the drive, teachers are conducting door-to-door campaigns in villages, counseling parents and encouraging them to send their children to school.

The Mega Enrollment Drive 2025 will continue across other clusters in Zone Uri in the coming days, with the goal of achieving 100% enrollment and retention. The initiative reflects the government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that no child is left behind in the pursuit of education.
