POONCH, OCTOBER 16, :

Army has retrieved the bodies of the two soldiers, including a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO), who went missing during a fierce gun battle with militants on Thursday evening in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch.

Reports said that the JCO and the soldier went missing after the Army came under heavy firing from the militants on Thursday. Two soldiers – Rifleman Yogambar Singh and rifleman Vikram Singh Negi – were killed in that encounter.

Reliable sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that today army recovered the bodies of missing JCO and the soldier. With the recovery of these bodies, the toll during the ongoing anti-militant operation has risen to nine.

Earlier five soldiers including a JCO had been killed. Then in the encounter, 2 soldiers were killed while two including the JCO had gone missing. Both the missing soldiers’ bodies were retrieved today. (KNT)
