The School Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir has attached the Chief Education Officers (CEOs) of Baramulla and Anantnag to the Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) amid scrutiny of certain orders issued by these officials.

While the exact reasons for the attachments have not been disclosed, sources told news agency JKNS that it may be related to recent administrative decisions.

The CEOs will now report directly to the DSEK and may be assigned new duties. In a related move, the CEO of Bandipora withdrew an order regarding “Work from Home” for Jammu-based, PM Package, and migrant employees after it caused confusion within the teaching community.

An official order regarding the attachment reads: “In the interest of administration, Mr. Altaf Hussain Tarra, I/c Chief Education Officer, Baramulla is hereby attached to the office of Director, School Education Kashmir. Mr. Ashok K. Raina, Principal DIET Sopore, will handle the charge of CEO, Baramulla in addition to his own duties until further orders.”

Separate order issued by SED reads, In the interest of administration, Mr. Bashir Ahmad Shah I/c Chief Education Officer, Anantnag is hereby attached in the office of Director, School Education Kashmir, Mr. Kishore Kumar Principal DIET, Anantnag shall look after the charge of Chief Education Officer, Anantnag in addition to his own duties, till further orders.
