Thousands converged at Hazratbal for congregational prayers

SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 22 :
On the eve of Friday following Eid-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW), thousands of devotees converged at the Kashmir’s revered shrine of Hazratbal Dargah that houses the holy relic of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) to have a glimpse of the Holy relic.
As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Eid-e-Milad (SAW), the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was observed on Tuesday with religious zeal and enthusiasm.
On Friday following today, the congregational prayers were held at various shrines and Masjids across the Valley while the main gathering was held at Hazratbal Dargah shrine here where the devotees from different parts of the Valley participated in the special prayers.
The special arrangements were made today in wake of the Covid-19 with Waqf officials informing that the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) were followed in letter and spirit.
However, the historic Jamia Masjid, which usually witnesses a huge gathering on the Friday following of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) , remained closed as a preventive measure due to the outbreak of Covid-19.
The devotees said that the holy relic at the Hazratbal shrine was displayed after every prayer today.
Meanwhile, seminars and programmes were organized in Masjids and shrines today in which the Islamic clerics threw light on the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW)—(KNO)
