Directorate of Health Services Jammu (DHSJ) has initiated a probe into the allegations against the Block Medical Officer (BMO) of Gool in Ramban district, following complaints of harassment, extortion, and delayed salary disbursement to staff members.

As per an order issued by Director Health Services Jammu, Dr. Abdul Hamid Zargar, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), three-member committee has been formed to carry out the investigation.

The committee will be headed by Dr. Sanjay Kumar Sharma, Deputy Director Dentistry, with Dr. Kamal Jee Zadoo (Chief Medical Officer, Ramban) and Shashi Paul (Assistant Accounts Officer, Directorate of Health Services) serving as members.

The committee has been given a 10-day deadline to thoroughly examine the matter and present a report containing concrete findings and actionable recommendations.

The decision to set up the inquiry committee was taken after the Directorate received multiple formal complaints accusing the BMO of abusive conduct towards subordinates, financial coercion, and withholding of staff payments—(KNO)
