Sanctions ₹2 Lakh for Deceased, ₹1 Lakh for Injured in Kishtwar Cloudburst

Kishtwar, Aug 16 :

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday announced ex-gratia relief for the victims of the recent cloudburst in Kishtwar after visiting the affected areas and reviewing the situation.

According to the Office of the Chief Minister as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, an amount of ₹2 lakh will be provided from the CM’s Relief Fund for each deceased person, ₹1 lakh for those severely injured, and ₹50,000 for those with minor injuries.

For property losses, the CM announced ₹1 lakh for fully damaged structures, ₹50,000 for severely damaged structures, and ₹25,000 for partially damaged ones.

Omar Abdullah said the relief is aimed at providing immediate assistance to the families affected by the tragedy, while rehabilitation and restoration measures will continue under close monitoring.

The CM reiterated the government’s commitment to extend all possible help to the victims of the disaster and directed officials to ensure timely disbursal of the announced aid. (KNC)
