Bandipora, Aug 16 :
The Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Bandipora on Saturday ordered the suspension of Dr. Sabia Salam, Medical Officer, for remaining absent from duty and skipping official Independence Day celebrations despite clear directions.
According to the suspension order as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, Dr. Sabia Salam failed to attend her scheduled duty on August 14, 2025, thereby adversely affecting patient care at District Hospital Bandipora. The order further states that on August 15, despite written instructions, she did not participate in the Independence Day function, without seeking prior permission or authorization.
The Medical Superintendent observed that such conduct amounts to “disrespect and disregard for a National Event and reflects indiscipline unbecoming of a Government servant.”
In exercise of powers under Rule 31 of the J&K Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956, read with Article 128 of the J&K Civil Service Regulations, Dr. Sabia Salam has been placed under suspension with immediate effect, pending enquiry.
