Seeks Severe punishment to perpetrators

Srinagar, Aug 17 :

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday strongly condemned the killing of a minor girl in Ganderbal, describing the act as “inhuman and reprehensible.”

In a post shared on X, the Office of the J&K CM, as per news agency Kashmir News Corner (KNC), wrote that the Chief Minister expressed deep anguish over the incident and conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. “The perpetrators of this heinous act deserve the severest punishment,” the post read.

According to police, the 14-year-old girl was allegedly abducted near her home in Ganderbal and later found dead along the Batsar-Sehpora road. Her elder sister, who was also present during the incident, managed to escape but remains in a state of shock and is undergoing treatment.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted to probe the case, while locals have demanded swift justice for the victim’s family. (KNC)
