In a major disciplinary drive, the Kupwara district administration has launched a crackdown on absenteeism after surprise inspections across government offices this week, during which 48 employees were found absent without authorization.

As per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, On the directions of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Shrikant Suse, a series of surprise inspections were carried out during this week across various Government offices in the district to check the punctuality and attendance of employees.

The inspection teams were led by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR), SDMs and Tehsildars, who visited offices under their respective jurisdictions during working hours.
During the inspections, around 48 employees were found absent from duty without authorization.

Taking a serious note of this lapse, the district administration has issued show-cause notices to all the erring officials, directing them to explain their absence within the stipulated time.

DC has reiterated that strict disciplinary action will follow in cases of habitual absenteeism and dereliction of duty.

He emphasized that government employees are public servants, and their foremost responsibility is to ensure punctuality and provide efficient services to the citizens.

DC further directed all controlling officers to regularly monitor the attendance of their subordinates, adding that surprise inspections will continue in the coming days to enforce discipline and accountability in the functioning of Government offices. (KNC)
