Sopore, October 08, 2025:
Continuing its crackdown on the activities of banned organisations, Sopore Police today conducted a search operation at the residence of Syed Yousuf Shah, son of Syed Najaf Shah, resident of Hygam Sopore, in connection with ongoing investigation of Case *FIR No. 33/2025, registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
The statment issued here that,The search was carried out after obtaining proper legal authorization from the competent court of law. During the operation, literature and photographs related to the banned organisation Jammu & Kashmir Itihad-ul-Muslimeen (JKIM) were recovered and seized for further investigation.
The operation is part of Sopore Police’s sustained efforts to investigate unlawful activities of proscribed organisations and to dismantle the terror–separatist ecosystem in the area.
Sopore Police reiterates its commitment to upholding the rule of law and maintaining peace and security in the district. Firm action against elements involved in promoting separatism or supporting banned organisations will continue.
