Srinagar, Oct 16 :
In a major step forward in its sustained campaign against terrorism, Jammu and Kashmir Police have secured proclamation orders against the self-styled chief of the proscribed outfit Hizbul Mujahideen, Mohammad Yousuf Shah alias Syed Salahuddin, who has been living under Pakistan’s protection.
A top police officer confirmed to news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC that the proclamation orders were issued in connection with FIR No. 67/2012 registered at Police Station Dangiwacha.
“The war against terror continues. This move is part of our broader effort to ensure that no one involved in terrorist activities escapes justice,” the officer said.
He added that despite Salahuddin’s attempts to evade accountability by taking refuge in Pakistan, legal actions will continue to tighten the noose around him. “You can run, but you can’t hide, definitely not forever,” the officer asserted.
The police reaffirmed their commitment to tracking down and prosecuting all individuals associated with terror networks operating against the sovereignty and peace of Jammu and Kashmir. (KNC)
