Srinagar, Oct 23 :
The Jammu & Kashmir People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday issued a three-line whip to all its legislators in the Jammu & Kashmir Assembly, directing them to vote in favour of the National Conference (NC) candidates in the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections scheduled for October 24, 2025.
In an official communication a copy of which lies with news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, PDP Chief Whip Mir Mohammad Fayaz instructed all party MLAs to remain present in the House during polling, cast their votes as per the party’s decision, and refrain from abstaining or voting against the directives.
“Any violation of this Whip will be treated as a breach of party discipline and will attract necessary action under relevant provisions,” the order stated.
The directive reflects the PDP’s coordinated strategy with the NC to consolidate support and prevent any division of votes during the crucial Rajya Sabha elections. (KNC)
