Srinagar, Oct 26 :
AICC General Secretary Ghulam Ahmad Mir on Sunday expressed surprise over the Bharatiya Janata Party securing the fourth Rajya Sabha seat from Jammu and Kashmir in the 2025 elections saying that National Conference must evaluate what went wrong.
Speaking to news wire ANI, Mir as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC said, “That shouldn’t have happened. According to the calculations, the BJP shouldn’t have secured even the fourth seat.”
However, since the results were announced yesterday, the question has been circulating, who were the voters that handed a solid vote to the BJP in the fourth seat? He said adding that “one member abstained, and one vote was rejected, so the overall outcome favoured the BJP.”
Mir said, “Later, when considering the remaining votes pledged to us, many were from independents and others from parties with only one seat.”
G.A Mir further said that, “It was the National Conference’s responsibility to engage with them, and maybe the Chief Minister was speaking with them himself. So they must evaluate what went wrong.” (KNC)
