Baramulla, Nov 6, 2022:A delegation of the Jammu and Kashmir Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers’ Forum (JKRETTF), led by District President mohammad Yaqoob Bhat today held an important meeting with the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Baramulla Altaf Hussain Tara and Deputy CEO Iftikhar Ahmad Akhon at the CEO Office, Baramulla.
The delegation comprised senior leaders including senior Vice President UT Rahi Irshad, District General Secretary Reyaz Ahmad Ganai, District Apex Members, and Zonal Presidents.
During the meeting, the delegation expressed serious concern over the prolonged delay in convening Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meetings, resulting in hardships for both teaching and non-teaching staff awaiting Time-Bound (TB) promotions.
District President Mohammad Yaqoob Bhat urged the authorities to expedite the clearance of pending files, emphasizing that delays have caused significant distress among employees.
Responding to the concerns, CEO Baramulla Altaf Hussain Tara acknowledged the difficulties being faced by staff and assured the delegation that more than 700 Time-Bound Promotion files will be cleared in the upcoming week.
He added that the DPC meeting will be convened shortly and that the office has taken proactive steps to prioritize the process.
“Teachers and non-teaching staff need not worry; the department is taking all measures to ensure speedy clearance of pending Time-Bound Promotion files,” said CEO Baramulla.
The high-level meeting also reviewed follow-up actions from previous interactions, with officials giving patient hearing to each issue raised. Some matters were resolved on the spot, while directions were issued for immediate scrutiny of all pending files within this week.
District President Mohammad Yaqoob Bhat further informed that the Time-Bound Promotion issue was discussed threadbare and would be finalized in the coming week.
He appreciated the CEO’s serious approach and commitment to address the matter on priority. He also urged teaching and non-teaching staff to remain patient as the process nears completion, adding that winter tutorial arrangements were also discussed with the officers.
The delegation also met Section Officer Mohammad Ramzan, Head Assistant Javid Ahmad Radu, and Senior Assistant Nasrullah, apprising them of various issues concerning teachers and students.
Prominent leaders who attended the meeting included District Organiser Mustafa Wazir,District Finance Secretary Showkat Ahmad Wani, Zonal President Rohama Mohammad Amin, Zonal President Sopore Showkat Ahmad Dar, besides other senior members and zonal executives.
During the discussions, strategies were framed to expedite processing of all pending Time-Bound Promotion files at both zonal and district levels to ensure that accumulated cases of the past several months are cleared within a stipulated timeframe.—Media Cell JKRETTF
