Baramulla, Nov 7:

The District Administration Baramulla today joined the nationwide commemoration of 150 years of the iconic patriotic song ‘Vande Mataram’ by organising a vibrant and emotionally charged event at the auditorium of Government Degree College (GDC) Boys’, Baramulla.

The celebration was aimed at paying tribute to one of India’s most powerful symbols of national identity, unity, and pride.

The event was graced by Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers of the district administration, college faculty, officials, students from various educational institutions, and citizens from different walks of life.

In his address, the DC Baramulla highlighted the historical and cultural importance of the song, recalling how Vande Mataram became a rallying cry for India’s freedom struggle and continues to inspire generations.

Minga Sherpa further urged the youth to carry forward the values of unity, sacrifice, and patriotism that form the bedrock of India’s national ethos.

As part of the celebrations, students from GDC Baramulla along with the Baramulla Police Band, presented captivating cultural performances depicting the spirit of national integration and patriotism.

Adding an engaging element to the celebration, an open quiz competition based on patriotic themes was organised where students from multiple institutions participated actively, demonstrating their knowledge of India’s rich cultural heritage and historical milestones.
