To mark the 150th anniversary of India’s National Song “Vande Mataram,” the Jammu and Kashmir Police organized the main commemoration programme at the Police Control Room (PCR) in Kashmir.

The event was inaugurated by the Director General of Police, J&K, Nalin Prabhat, who led the celebrations with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor, a police spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

The programme commenced with the collective singing of “Vande Mataram,” in which the DGP, senior officers, and a large number of police personnel participated. The powerful rendition echoed through the PCR premises, symbolizing unity, dedication, and devotion to the motherland — values that the song has inspired for generations.

Senior officers of the J&K Police, including Spl. DGP (Coordination) J&K S.J.M. Gillani, IGP Kashmir, DIG IRP Kashmir, DIG CKR, DIG CID, and other senior officials, along with police personnel, graced the occasion.

The ceremony concluded with participants reaffirming their pledge to serve the nation with integrity and devotion. The gathering reflected a renewed sense of national pride and solidarity, underscoring the timeless relevance of “Vande Mataram” as a symbol of India’s unity and patriotic spirit—(KNO)
