Police District Handwara today observed the 150th Anniversary of India’s National Song “Vande Mataram” with great patriotic zeal, enthusiasm, and reverence. The event was organized to commemorate 150 years since “Vande Mataram” was composed — a song that became the soul of India’s freedom struggle and continues to serve as a timeless symbol of unity and national pride.

The programme commenced with the National Anthem “Jana Gana Mana,” followed by the soulful rendition of “Vande Mataram” by the participants, filling the atmosphere with deep patriotism and emotion.

Personnel from the CRPF also participated in the event, further adding to the spirit of solidarity and national pride.

Speaking on the occasion, SSP Handwara highlighted the deep patriotic and emotional connect that Vande Mataram holds for every Indian. He emphasized that the song is not merely a melody, but a powerful expression of the nation’s collective soul — a reminder of our shared heritage, courage, and sacrifices made by countless freedom fighters. He urged all participants to imbibe the ideals of devotion, discipline, and dedication towards the motherland in their professional and personal lives.

The event concluded with expressions of gratitude and reaffirmation of commitment to the spirit of nationalism and selfless service to the nation.
