Srinagar, Nov 8:
In a significant relief for Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party leader and businessman Mukhtar Ahmad Dar, the J&K High Court has quashed the FIR lodged against him following a complaint by Anil Karamchandani.

The FIR had been registered after a press conference held by Karamchandani, who had levelled allegations against Dar. However, after hearing arguments from both sides, the High Court observed that the case lacked merit and ordered the quashing of the FIR, bringing respite to Dar ahead of the Budgam elections, where he is contesting as an Apni Party candidate.

Legal experts termed the verdict as a “major relief” for Dar, who has maintained that the charges were politically motivated and intended to malign his image before the polls.
