Srinagar, Nov 12 :
Night temperatures plummeted across Jammu & Kashmir with several areas of the Valley freezing under severe cold conditions while Srinagar recording its coldest night of the season at minus 1.6°C.
Details shared by Kashmir Weather as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, In Srinagar, the mercury settled at -1.6°C, while Qazigund recorded -1.5°C. Higher reaches remained significantly colder as Pahalgam touched -3.8°C and Kupwara slipped to -2.0°C. Budgam was among the coldest places in the Valley at -4.2°C, followed closely by Shopian at -4.1°C and Pampore at -3.4°C.
Gulmarg recorded -1.0°C, Kokernag 0.8°C, Bandipora -2.6°C, Baramulla -3.2°C, Pulwama -1.4°C, and Ganderbal -1.7°C. Sonamarg stood at -2.9°C, while temperatures at Srinagar Airport and Awantipora settled at -2.0°C and -2.2°C respectively.
In the Jammu region, the night temperature in Jammu City was 10.0°C, while Banihal recorded -0.5°C. Katra stood at 9.0°C, Batote 4.5°C, Bhaderwah 1.2°C, Udhampur 5.0°C, Kathua 10.2°C, Ramban 6.1°C, Rajouri 3.4°C, and Kishtwar 4.2°C. Jammu Airport registered 11.7°C.
The persistent fall in temperatures marks the deepening of early winter conditions across the region. (KNC)
