SOPOR, NOVEMBER ,12:

The two day national conference was held on 12-13 November 2025 in the auditorium of the college at 11:00 A:M under the patronage of our worthy Principal Prof. Subeena Chilloo. Shri Irshad Rasool Kar, Member Legislative Assembly Sopore was the chief guest for the conference.The other guests at the presidium were Mr. Shabir Ahmad Raina, ADC Sopore, SSP Sopore, Mr. Iftikhar Talib, Prof. Aijaz Hakak Principal Amar Singh College and Prof Maryam Sarwat from Amity University Noida.

The premier gathering was aimed at bringing together researchers, scientists, and students to explore groundbreaking developments at the intersection of Climate Science, Biomedical Research and epigenetics. The programme was moderated by Head Department of Computer Applications, Prof. Zubair Syed Masoodi.The programme began with the National Anthem which was followed by the traditional Izbandh Ceremony. Students from multiple semesters sang the college tarana which was played by techical assistants Mr. Majid and Mr.Afaq. This was followed by the felicitation ceremony in which all dignitaries on the presidium were present with a token of love. Worthy Principal of the college Prof. Subeena Chiloo welcomed the guest and was humbled to have them in the college. In her welcome address madam highlighted the importance of these conferences and appreciated the Organizing Secretary Dr. Jaffar Bhat. Principal Amar Singh College, Dr. Aijaz Hakak, in his speech talked about the challenges faced by the stake holders of our system. He talked about Climate Resilience and emphasized the protection of water bodies and environment is the need of hour, An Posh Tel Yel Van Posh should be protected and followed in letter and spirit. He thanked the college, on behalf of the Higher Education Department, for the galaxy of speakers. Dr. Jaffar Bhat, the Organizing Secretary of the conference acknowledged the contribution of Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Tantry in making the conference a success. In his insightful speech he drew a connection between basic science and applied science. He gave a summary of the two day conference touching each theme of the conference. He expressed his gratitude to the sponsors of the conference. Prof. Maryam Sarwat from Pharmaceutical Department, in her speech was delighted with the basic idea of conference i.e., collaboration and dissemination of knowledge. Mr. Shabir Raina ADC, Sopore expressed his gratitude to the organizing committee for putting up climate resilience on the front as it is the major concern of today’s times. The speech was followed by the inauguration of the newsletter of the college. Dr. Khalid Bashir ,his team of two students Taskeenah Latief and Adfar Jan along with Editor of the newsletter Prof. Falak Naz distributed the newsletter among the dignitaries. SSP Sopore was all in praise for Worthy Principal for organizing such a programme where people from science background are assembled at a common platform to create a sphere where work for community is a priority. Mr. Irshad Rasool Kar, MLA, Sopore expressed his satisfaction with the milestones the college is achieving. He assured of all help in building the auditorium, the demand that is long pending. Prof Shameem Ahmad, Principal, GDC, was felicitated by SSP Sopore and Prof Imtiyaz Ahmad, Principal, GDC Dangiwacha was felicitated by MLA Sopore. ADC Sopore and Staff Secretary of college felicitated Principal Kowsar Jabeen of GDC, Kreeri. A formal vote of Thanks was presented by Dr. Syed Murtaza Geelani. In his speech he thanked one and all for making this conference a reality. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the dignitaries for sparing time and gracing the occasion. The dignitaries inaugurated the RFID based college library where the Librarian gave a presentation on the functioning of the RFID facility. The SSP Sopore and other dignitaries were impressed with the facility which aims at providing easy access to books in short time. Adapting to modern educational resources was highly appreciated by everyone.
