SRINAGAR:

The 347th session of the Fiction Writers Guild was held at Abi Guzar, Srinagar where writers, poets, and literary enthusiasts gathered to pay rich tributes to Faiyaz Dilber a distinguished poet, theatre activist, journalist, short story writer, novelist, and researcher.

Faiyaz Dilbar passed away recently at a sringar hospital after brief illnes.

Participants which included his close friends and family members as well remembered Faiyaz Dilber with deep affection and admiration. They said that Faiyaz Dilber was “a rare creative spirit whose pen carried both sensitivity and courage, and whose multidimensional work enriched Kashmiri literature in remarkable ways .Participants noted that his research work in film genre novels and short stories would continue to guide future scholars and readers

Several speakers highlighted his literary versatility and his lifelong devotion to the cultural and intellectual life of Kashmir. They recalled his eloquent poetry, powerful short stories, and his impactful role in theatre and journalism.
Guest of honour at the event Ayash Arif, a noted film maker remembered his contribution to Kashmiri literature, especially poetry, saying that “Faiyaz Dilber brought a unique lyrical grace to Kashmiri verse, capturing the emotional landscapes of our society with depth, sincerity, and artistic brilliance.”.
Dr Qazi Riyaz Ahmad ,brother of Faiyaz,Dilbar who was also guest of honour at the Guild event turned emotional while he remembered his time spend with his brother while they grew together. ” He was a uiique child ,who would always think and act differently “. DR Qazi rembered his brother as a bold voice ,a non- conformist ,outspoken and always humble”.

Noted film director,producer Shabir Muhahid who was also guest of honour at the commemorative event said that Dilber’s creative legacy remains a vital reference point for contemporary Kashmiri writing, inspiring both young and seasoned authors alike.

Prof. Farooq Fayaz, who presided over the event, praised Faiyaz Dilber as “an exceptional literary force whose work will continue to illuminate Kashmiri literature for generations.”
He said that Faiyaz Dilber’s creative journey “stands as a testament to unwavering dedication, intellectual honesty, and a lifelong commitment to nurturing Kashmir’s literary soul.”
Noted critic and writer Salim Salik conducted the proceedings of the event .
