Seeks revenue extracts of residential property, hotel belonging of wine shop owner in Sgr

SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 10 :

The Excise and Taxation department has written to the revenue department, seeking revenue extracts of residential property and hotel belonging to a wine shop owner from Batwara area of Srinagar.

The letter sent by Excise & Taxation Officer, Excise Range Srinagar-Budgam-Ganderbal to Tehsildar South (Srinagar), under number ETO/EXC/SandeepChatoo/1337-39, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) reads that the Ex-license of wine shop is in default of over Rs four crore on account of Excise Revenue to the department.

Accordingly, the officer in a letter has sought revenue extracts of the residential property owned by Sandeep Chatoo, son of Late P.L. Chatoo of Shivpora, H.no.38 Srinagar and a Hotel under the name and style of Hotel CH2, Batwara Srinagar.

“With reference to the above mentioned subject, it is submitted that Shri Sandeep Chatoo, Prop. M/s Sandeep Chatoo Wine Shop (Ex-License) is in default of over 4 crore rupees on account of Excise Revenue to this Department and has till date defaulted for the same and continues to be same. In order to process the case for recovery in terms of Land Revenue Act, 1996, it is requested to kindly provide this office the revenue extracts of the residential property owned by Shri Sandeep Chatoo, S/o Late P.L. Chatoo R/o Shivpora, H.no.38 Srinagar, Kashmir and a Hotel under the name and style of Hotel CH2, Batwara Srinagar falling under your jurisdictional area,” the letter reads—(KNO)
